The Saskatchewan Dental Hygienists’ Association (SDHA), is the regulatory body of the dental hygiene profession under the authority of the Dental Disciplines Act. The purpose of professional regulation is to protect the public from risk and reduce harm to those a profession serves. The services provided by a dental hygienist can pose risk to the public if performed unethically, incompetently, or by unqualified individuals.
